The World of Questy

Who is Questy

Welcome to the World of Questy where I organize my notes on philosophy to share with those who care to learn and for those who dare to dream.

I started reading the works of the great philosophers when I was old enough to read. I took my first philosophy class back in high school. Over the years I have amassed quite a collections of inspirational life quotes, assorted pearls of wisdom, and research material of many popular idioms.

From hand written notes and paper back books from college and high school dating back to the 1970s, to text files collected from the early days of online services, I have a lot of material to organize and share.

Some of the material on this website orgnated from text files I saved from the days of America Online and Compuserve back in the early 1990s. The online services were not yet connected to each other via the internet, you had to log on each one individuallly. The access to the online services was using using your computer to "dial up" a connection. The basic service came with a few hours of service, and the interface was text based, no pretty graphical user interfaces.

The evolution of Questy

The birth of "Questy" along with my quest for the origins of society grew out of a college writing assignment back in 1977, based on Golding's, Lord of the Flies. The point of my paper was that Lord of the Flies was a very poor model of society, and that his whole premise was wrong. This grew into my delving into studying the classics that tried to define society. In the 1980's as online services created handles and nicknames, I began using Questy as one of my screen names.

As I began developing web sites the colors green and purple, along with the Questy character, created my own brand identity. In my philosophical adventures I had often used variations of the name Questy, such as TaoQuest or PeraQuest (a word I coined to mean the journey throughout the possibilities.)

In 1998, I registered Questy.com to house the business and technology folders separately from my philosophical side, which lived at Questy.net. Over the years I have developed many business and technology technology websites on other domains separate from the world of Questy as part of the Guru 42 universe.

The "World of Questy" websites

Questy.com - The mothership of the Worlds of Questy is the home for my decades of collecting inspirational life quotes, assorted pearls of wisdom, and research material of many popular idioms.

Questy.us - The Tao of Questy is a collection of the personal thoughts and visions of the philosophical Questy. Some may be simple dreams, while other are burning melodies of words and music pouring through my soul.

PhilosophyGuru.us - The philosophical playground of the mind mixing music and movies with philosophy. Studying the wisdom of Confucius and Zen, then back to Bob Seger and Rock again.

AmericanPhilosopher.us - The birth of our nation is one of many quests for the promised land. The founding fathers were on a quest for justice, liberty, and virtue. It's time we all revisit the dreams and visions of Thomas Jefferson, The Declaration of Independence, and those who influenced the birth of our nation.
