Today's #FridayMorningJam celebrates the life of Gary Rossington who recently passed away, he was the last original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I also want to celebrate Women's History Month by featuring the first women of southern rock. I chose this live video from the Summer of 1976 because it prominantly features Cassie Gaines, Jojo Billingsley, and Leslie Hawkins, known collectively as The Honkettes.
Sadly Cassie Gaines was one of the members of the band that was killed in the October 20, 1977, plane crash along with Ronnie Van Zant and Cassie's brother Steve Gaines.

#ClassicRock has lost a legend. Gary Rossington, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Last Original Member, Dead at 71. Rossington was born December 4th, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, and raised by his mother after his father died.
